The screeching is just fine. The more Y screeches, the more this turns into the demon war that Ray fought in over in Andrew's world, and the more motivation Ray has to get this right.
Not that he needs motivation. If it were somehow possible to store caffeine in the human body the way stray LSD gets packed away for future occasions, then a good twenty-seven* years' worth of accumulated unmetabolized caffeine would be dumping into Ray's bloodstream right now along with his natural output of adrenalin. He hasn't got the Force in his corner... just really hyper body chemistry.
