Into the Black, Part IIIb: Team Delta

Looking to the right, the hallway goes quite a ways down. There are several doors along the way, but also an open space at the far end that looks like it might be a stairwell.

Unfortunately, it's immediately clear that these hallways aren't going to provide any cover whatsoever.

The Deltas are most of the way down when Zed's comm crackles again, "Alphas down! Repeat: Alphas down!! We just had Ryan and Suzi get eaten by the worm!"

Back up in the Landing Bay, a slime-covered Goldy is still on Oil torching duty. She's also beating herself up over the fact that she never turned her Holtzman Generator on—if she had, she might not be quite so comprehensively disgusting right now.

Zed's urgent announcement jars her out of her disgruntled reverie.

"Fuck's sake! Alright! I'm on my way!"

She stops what's she's doing and looks to see if Steph left a cable attached at the rim of the hole. She did, in fact, but before the Fable has a chance to get over to it, a huge messy pile of long translucent rubber tubes catches her attention closer to hand. It seems to be trembling slightly, and not because of the environmental upheavals.

She walks over and prepares to incinerate the heap.

Over the hydraulic WHOOSH sound of the descending mech comes Jen's voice, echoing up through the air.

"Watch your backs, Angels!"
