Zed's been spending most of the day staring out the Observation Window. He doesn't need the holographic data or the floor plans anymore. He really didn't need them in the first place. He could have run this entire scenario in his head if he had had to. Laying it out on paper and screen was just a matter of convenience, and a way to double-check that he wasn't making an obvious mistake.

Either way, the time for prep is done. The word's gone out to the volunteers about tonight's briefing, and they have already begun to show up. Zed's found a quiet corner of the bar and a small table, on which sits the cylinder which is now projecting a holographic image of the MiB logo.

He's been staring at that logo. It's never been more compromised than it is right now. By the time this mission is done, it will stand for something again--or be finished for good.

But then comes the sight of the first people arriving, and just like that, all his worries are cast aside.

Re: Briefing V: Team Delta

"I've actually been avoiding her since Christmas," Goldy concedes, a bit sheepishly. "She bought me the most hideous Edwardian hat as a present, and, honestly, I'm terrified that she's going to pout at me until I wear it in public."

"And that's just never going to happen."

Re: Briefing V: Team Delta

"The worst part is I know I would. I'm kind of a sucker when it comes to saying 'no' to her."

He shrugs. "How'd you get persuaded into this?"

Re: Briefing V: Team Delta

"Persuaded?"

She looks at him askance.

"Well, if you need a reason for my involvement, I know K. But the truth is that I never turn down a chance to wreak legitimized chaos."

Re: Briefing V: Team Delta

"Ahhh, well. I can't argue there. He showed me the mech I get to use, and it was all downhill from there. I didn't know Zed or K before this. Blowing up the bad guys is my regular job, but I usually get more paperwork to do."

Re: Briefing V: Team Delta

Goldy nods understandingly.

"Firearms have always been my forte, rather than explosives or armored vehicles. I've kept up with them since the first flintlocks and breech loaders came onto the scene in the Fifteenth Century."

"I've mostly been self-employed though, so the red tape has been minimal."

"Yeah? Demolitions and mechanics are my specialties, but I'm no slack with a gun, either. And I gotta say, you don't look a day over three-hundred."

He smirks.

She matches his expression, a little more indecently.

"I like to think it's all the oats I get."

"The wilder the better."

She gives him a wink that would be highly inappropriate in any situation, let alone the tense briefing they are currently in the middle of.

"How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? And where are you from?"

"I'm probably about eighteen. I'm originally from the L2 colony cluster, which seems to be in the future, for most people. I live on Earth, right now. You know Steph?"

Re: Briefing V: Team Delta

Goldy checks to make sure Steph isn't actually watching, then nods a rather fond affirmation.

"Yes," she says.

"Not from Earth. We met here and... I suppose you could say we're partners in booze, skinny dipping and high-adrenaline activities."

He grins. "Sounds like a good time. Steph and I joined forces to tease the crap out of a mutual friend. She's good stuff."

Duo pauses, and glances over to the official looking clump of people.

"...should we be listening to that?"

Re: Briefing V: Team Delta

Goldy follows his gaze and squints.

"...it did sound kind of important," she notes, catching the very end of Ray's epic monologue about Holtzman Generators.

"Um."

She grins at Duo.

"Yes. I suppose we'd better shut up. It's not like my life depends on it, but yours might."
