Zed's been spending most of the day staring out the Observation Window. He doesn't need the holographic data or the floor plans anymore. He really didn't need them in the first place. He could have run this entire scenario in his head if he had had to. Laying it out on paper and screen was just a matter of convenience, and a way to double-check that he wasn't making an obvious mistake.
Either way, the time for prep is done. The word's gone out to the volunteers about tonight's briefing, and they have already begun to show up. Zed's found a quiet corner of the bar and a small table, on which sits the cylinder which is now projecting a holographic image of the MiB logo.
He's been staring at that logo. It's never been more compromised than it is right now. By the time this mission is done, it will stand for something again--or be finished for good.
But then comes the sight of the first people arriving, and just like that, all his worries are cast aside.

"...oooooh." She nudges Goldilocks, shaking out the costume with pure delight. "Oooh, G, check this out!"
While the others ask questions, Steph takes mental notes to review later; mainly she's running the sleek outfit through her fingers, checking expertly for protective value, seams that won't irritate, stretch factor, strength. Every check she runs produces a bigger grin than the one before. Whoever designed this thing really knew what they were doing.
Although there's no cape.

She lifts an eyebrow at the stealth uniform when it's removed from the box.
"Hmmm. Functional, stylish, and cute," she notes appraisingly.
"Now that I could wear."
Though the Rachel gifted spandex costume is certainly retro chic, its dazzling white color and predominant sparkles had seemed less than beneficial in this vaguely covert combat situation. That was Goldy's primary excuse for not wearing it anyway.
"You're going to look hot."
Possibly hotter than the Fable, which causes some mild annoyance. She doesn't let it show though. This attire is a necessity after all, and it's not like they are going into a situation where their relative foxiness matters. She will doubtless regain her superiority at some later juncture.

"So - mission Get Maxwell Into The Mech is go, then. I think we can handle it. How tough can this stuff be, anyway?"

She glances more obviously at each of their assigned comrades.
"Do you know either of them?"

"I'm Goldy," she says with a smile. "Short for Goldilocks."
"Yes, that one, or a version of her, if you're familiar with the tale. I'm a Fable. And I'm the artillery, at least in the context of this mission. I'm also immortal, and a markswoman."
She's particularly taken by the She-Hulk's rather gorgeous hair, though she's not prepared to actually release a compliment at this point.

She looks at him askance.
"Well, if you need a reason for my involvement, I know K. But the truth is that I never turn down a chance to wreak legitimized chaos."

"Firearms have always been my forte, rather than explosives or armored vehicles. I've kept up with them since the first flintlocks and breech loaders came onto the scene in the Fifteenth Century."
"I've mostly been self-employed though, so the red tape has been minimal."

It's certainly possible that there's a superteam out there that Jen hasn't heard of. Perhaps they're new, or just obscure? Or not from her world at all?
"The Fables? I've never heard of them. Do you guys work on the West Coast?"
Goldilocks. Hmmm.
From:
Re: Briefing V: Team Delta
"No. We are actually Fables; versions of the characters from the stories that are popular on Earth. We've been living as refugees there since the 1400's, when our own world was over-run by an evil horde, most in a secret Manhattan enclave or on a farm in upstate New York."
From:
Re: Briefing V: Team Delta
"I hope it's not impolite to ask, but were you born, or made? I've met some people that were deliberately transformed to resemble mythological characters. And upstate New York? I'm...glad to hear that it's a refuge. Ever hear of Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters?"

"And, yes, for the latter... through some of the X-folk I've met around here. Mostly Rachel Grey; she's a good friend of mine."
From:
Re: Briefing V: Team Delta
That's highly unexpected; maybe Goldy's from Jen's Earth? But then again, the X-family has more alternate versions of each other than the Exiles.
From:
Re: Briefing V: Team Delta
"I met her shortly after I arrived, and subsequently helped rescue her from Gaunt's enslavement. That was about a year ago. She works Security here these days."
From:
Re: Briefing V: Team Delta
"Rachel Grey is employed at Milliways? I wonder what her dad thinks of that. I've just never seen her here, so I'm surprised. I've only met two people from my Earth here. Well, three, if you count my cousin."
She's a little sad to hear that Rachel somehow was put into captivity again; she's familiar enough with the X families to know that Rachel didn't have a happy childhood.
From:
Re: Briefing V: Team Delta
"Currently, I only know of two who are here from my Earth and original world. To whit: Rapunzel and Rose Red. Snow White and Bigby Wolf used to reside here, but popular rumor seems to suggest that they have moved on."
It's not apparent quite how pleased she is about that.
